Serafino was a youth player with Boca Juniors. In 2015, he signed for Huracán in the Uruguayan Segunda División, where he made three league appearances and scored zero goals.[2] After that, he played for Naxxar Lions (Malta) before joining Bangor City (Wales) and scored ten goals along with 12 assists during the 2019–20 season.[3] Francesco also played for Sambenedettese and F.C. Castiglione (Italy).
His father is Domenico Serafino, an Italian musician and businessman.
In October 2021 the Milan Court bankruptcy section declared Sudaires srl, the company owned by Serafino and his father, Domenico, bankrupt - a company which had previously held all the shares of S.S. Sambenedettese. This bankruptcy charge was bought by Powergrass for works at the Stadio Riviera delle Palme where they had only been partially paid[4] and SDS Strategic.[5]
