Carriera


È considerato tra i migliori difensori nella storia della National Hockey League, avendo vinto 8 James Norris Memorial Trophy consecutivi (dal 1968 al 1975), assegnato al miglior difensore della lega. Inoltre, è stato per 6 volte leader del plus/minus prima dell'istituzione dell'NHL Plus/Minus Award, cosa che lo renderebbe il giocatore più vincente nella storia di questo trofeo. Si è ritirato a soli 30 anni per un grave infortunio al ginocchio. Nel 1979, nonostante non fosse ritirato da 3 anni, come vorrebbe la regola, è stato introdotto nella Hockey Hall of Fame.

Robert Gordon „Bobby“ Orr, OC, (* 20. März 1948 in Parry Sound, Ontario) ist ein ehemaliger kanadischer Eishockeyspieler. Von 1966 bis 1978 spielte er für die Boston Bruins und die Chicago Black Hawks in der National Hockey League (NHL) auf der Position des Verteidigers. Orr revolutionierte die Position des Abwehrspielers durch sein starkes Offensivspiel und gilt gemeinhin als einer der besten Spieler aller Zeiten. In seiner zwölf Spielzeiten dauernden NHL-Karriere gewann er zweimal mit den Bruins den Stanley Cup. In den Spielzeiten 1969/70 und 1974/75 wurde ihm für die meisten erzielten Scorerpunkte die Art Ross Trophy verliehen – er ist bis heute der einzige Verteidiger, der diese Auszeichnung gewinnen konnte. Robert Gordon Orr OC (born March 20, 1948) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, widely acknowledged as one of the greatest of all time.[1] Orr used his ice skating speed, scoring, and play-making abilities to revolutionize the position of defenceman.[2] He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 12 seasons, the first 10 with the Boston Bruins, followed by two with the Chicago Black Hawks. Orr remains the only defenceman to have won the league scoring title with two Art Ross Trophies. He holds the record for most points and assists in a single season by a defenceman. Orr won a record eight consecutive Norris Trophies as the NHL's best defenceman and three consecutive Hart Trophies as the league's most valuable player (MVP). Orr was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979 at age 31, the youngest to be inducted at that time. In 2017, Orr was named by the National Hockey League as one of the "100 Greatest NHL Players" in history.[3]
