Born in Atlanta, Adams attended Northwestern University and was selected in the 8th round of the 1970 NBA draft by the San Diego Rockets. In his NBA career, Adams averaged 8.7 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game. In the ABA, Adams averaged 10.1 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game and 3.9 assists per game.[2]
