Georgios Koutoulas (Greek: Γεώργιος Κούτουλας; born 9 February 1967) is a retired Greek football defender.[1][2]

Koutoulas was born on February 9, 1967 and played in mainly as center back and left back, while sometimes also played as a defensive midfielder. He started from the academies of AEK Athens and in 1987 he was promoted to the first team under Todor Veselinović. He had a very good first season and was considered a big talent of the time after his first appearances. The next season under Dušan Bajević he also did very well and helped AEK with his performances to win theλεαγθε. In fact, he was the third AEK player in appearances during this season. Afterwards, he showed himself to be relatively stagnant, while also facing injuries and his participation was clearly smaller. During his last three years in the team he was purely a substitute footballer and played very little. He left AEK in 1998 having won 4 championships, 2 cups, 2 Super Cups and 1 League Cup. After AEK, he played for PAS Giannina for one season and then for Panetolikos before ending his career in 2000. After the end of his career until today, Koutoulas has been heavily involved in matches of the association of veteran footballers of AEK Athens.[3]
Ιn 1988 Koutoulas played with Greece U21 in the European Championship where the reaced the final against France, doing exceptionally well in both legs against Eric Cantona. However the lost the title after a 3–0 loss at the second leg in Stade Léo Lagrange.[4]
Koutoulas played with Greece making 11 appearances between 1988 and 1990.
