José Santos Damasceno Filho (born July 13, 1970 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil), also known as Tiba, is a Mexican-Brazilian footballer.

In this Portuguese name, the first or maternal family name is Santos and the second or paternal family name is Damasceno. "Filho" is a generational suffix meaning "son", which is used for someone whose name is the same as their father, like "Jr." in English.

Career


Born in Salvador, Bahia, Damasceno was signed by Mexican club Pumas UNAM on the recommendation of former Pumas player and native of Salvador, Evanivaldo Castro, during the 1991–92 season. Pumas loaned Damasceno to Celaya F.C. for the 1995–96 season. The following season he was sold to Atlante F.C., where he would have a strong reaction during the first round of the 1996–97 Mexican Primera División season Invierno playoffs against Toros Neza, whose players dyed their hair red and yellow.[2]

José Damasceno Fhilo "Tiba" es un ex futbolista brasileño, naturalizado mexicano[1]. (n. 13 de julio de 1970) Hizo la mayor parte de su carrera en la Primera División y la Primera División A (Segunda División). Llegó al fútbol mexicano con Pumas de la UNAM en 1991, jugó en Primera División también con la La Selección del Tec, Club Celaya, Club de Fútbol Atlante, Jaguares de Chiapas, Petroleros de Salamanca y Reboceros de La Piedad. Ahora entrenado Superior Soccer Club Aztecas en Fort Worth, Texas
