Platt made his professional debut as a 17-year-old substitute for Shaun Kelly against Darlington on 3 May 2009 in Chester's final match in The Football League following relegation. Prior to his debut, Platt had been linked to moves to Premier League clubs[3] and had played for the first-team in a friendly match against Southport.[3]
Platt joined AFC Telford United on 9 July 2014, meaning he would step up a league, moving into the Conference Premier.
He left Stalybridge Celtic at the end of the 2016/17 season[4] and signed for Airbus UK Broughton.[5]
He moved to Colwyn Bay in June 2021 from Airbus.[6]
