Early life

Baig was born in Karachi, Pakistan on 28 February 1985.[1] He played cricket for various clubs and in Under-19 tournaments. After 2007, he moved to Malawi in search of better employment opportunities.[2]

Career

After the International Cricket Council conducted trials in Malawi, Baig was selected as one of the 22 players to make up the national squad.[3] He eventually became the captain of the team, and led it for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifiers in the African region.[4][5] He is a bowling all-rounder, who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm offbreak.[6][7] Baig made his debut against Mozambique in 2019.[8]
