He started his professional career in the 1991–92 season. Nicknamed Sami he played for FK Vojvodina, FC Volendam, SC Heerenveen, Feyenoord and RKC Waalwijk. He earned 1 cap for the Serbia and Montenegro national football team (then called FR Yugoslavia).[1]
