Ruslan Alievich Batyrshin (born February 19, 1975) is a former professional hockey player in the National Hockey League. Batyrshin was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 4th round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.[citation needed] He is an ethnic Tatar.[citation needed] As a youth, he played in the 1989 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Moscow.[1]
