Club career

Contessa made his Serie C debut for Fidelis Andria on 4 September 2011 in a game against Spezia.[2]

On 15 January 2019, he signed a 2.5-year contract with FeralpiSalò.[3]

On 20 January 2020, he moved to Catanzaro on a 1.5-year contract.[4]

On 9 July 2021, he returned to Reggiana on a two-year contract.[5]

On 27 August 2022, Contessa signed a two-year contract with Turris.[6]
