Playing career


Harris played in the National Hockey League from 1963 to 1975. During this time, he played for the Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota North Stars, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, and Philadelphia Flyers. He won four Stanley Cups with Montreal and a fifth with Philadelphia. He currently resides in southern New Jersey, just outside Philadelphia. Harris also fought Hockey Hall of Fame Rookie Bobby Orr in Orr's first regular season NHL fight.

Edward Alexander „Ted“ Harris (* 18. Juli 1936 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) ist ein ehemaliger kanadischer Eishockeyspieler und -trainer, der im Verlauf seiner aktiven Karriere zwischen 1953 und 1975 unter anderem 888 Spiele für die Canadiens de Montréal, Minnesota North Stars, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues und Philadelphia Flyers in der National Hockey League auf der Position des Verteidigers bestritten hat. Mit den Canadiens und Flyers gewann er insgesamt fünfmal den Stanley Cup. In der Folge seines Karriereendes arbeitete er zwischen 1975 und 1977 als Cheftrainer für sein Ex-Team Minnesota North Stars.
