Vadim Afonin (Russian: Вадим Афонин, born 29 September 1987) is an Uzbek-Russian footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder.

In February 2014 Afonin signed for Gazovik Orenburg.[1]
On 21 June 2017, FC Anzhi Makhachkala announced the signing of Afonin on a one-year contract with an option of a second year.[2]
He returned to FC Orenburg on 11 January 2018.[3] On 19 February 2020 he was removed by Orenburg from their squad registered with the league.[4]
On 2 March 2020, he returned to Uzbekistan and signed with Lokomotiv Tashkent.[5]
