Biographie
Aux Jeux olympiques d'été de 1948 à Londres Dario Mangiarotti remporte la médaille d'argent à l'épée par équipe. Les Jeux olympiques d'été de 1952 à Helsinki marquent le triomphe des frères Mangiarotti. Son frère Edoardo remporte le titre individuel et Dario est deuxième battant le suisse Oswald Zapelli qui avait privé Edoardo de médaille d’argent quatre ans plus tôt.
Cette année-là, les frères Mangiarotti gagnent à eux deux six médailles : or à l’épée individuelle, épée par équipe, fleuret par équipe et argent au fleuret individuel pour Edoardo ; or à l’épée par équipe et argent à l’épée individuelle pour Dario. Cet exploit reste toujours inégalé pour une fratrie.

Dario Mangiarotti (18 December 1915 – 9 April 2010) was an Italian fencer who competed at the 1948 and 1952 Summer Olympics and medaled in seven World Championships. He was born in Milan, the son of Giuseppe Mangiarotti, a fencer at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. He was also the brother of Edoardo Mangiarotti, Italy's most successful Olympian and the winner of more Olympic and World titles than any fencer in history, and Mario Mangiarotti, who was also a fencer.[1]- [fr] Dario Mangiarotti
