Le , il rejoint le club des Blackburn Rovers.

Williams quitte le Royaume-Uni le 4 mars 2021 pour s'engager deux saisons en faveur du Galaxy de Los Angeles, franchise californienne de Major League Soccer[1]. Après deux saisons et cinquante-et-une rencontres avec le Galaxy, il est transféré à D.C. United le [2].

He is a product of the Aston Villa Academy, having signed as a youngster from his local side Tramore AFC in County Waterford, and also played in England for Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers. Born in Germany with familial links to the United States, he represented the Republic of Ireland internationally.
