Carrière

Passé professionnel en 2002, il devient champion d'Afrique du Sud des poids pailles le 24 avril 2004 par arrêt de l'arbitre au 1^er round aux dépens de Mzikayse Foslare puis conserve à 6 reprises sa ceinture les deux années suivantes. Joyi s'empare du titre IBO de la catégorie le 4 novembre 2006 et devient champion du monde IBF le 26 mars 2010 en battant aux points Raúl García Hirales par décision unanime[1].

Il conserve son titre le 29 janvier 2011 après un verdict sans décision rendu au cours du 3^e round à la suite d'une profonde coupure subie par son adversaire japonais Katsunari Takayama[2]. Joyi confirme ce résultat en s'imposant cette fois aux points lors du combat revanche organisé le 30 mars 2012 mais il perd finalement sa ceinture par KO au 7^e round le 1^er septembre 2012 contre le mexicain Mario Rodriguez.

Nkosinathi Joyi (born 1 January 1983 in Mdantsane, South Africa), is a South African professional boxer with a southpaw stance who goes by the nickname of "Mabere". Joyi is the former IBF Minimumweight world champion, he was ranked by BoxRec and The Ring Magazine as the number one boxer in the Minimumweight division.[1] He is also the two-time and current IBO Minimumweight champion.

Нкосинати Джойи родился 21 мая 1983 года в городе Мданстайн, Восточно-Капская провинция, ЮАР. Является чемпионом мира по боксу в минимальном весе (до 47,6 кг или 105 фунтов) по версии IBO, в период с 2006 по 2008 года владел этим титулом, провёл 3 защиты титула. Позже оставил титул вакантным и стал чемпионом мира по версии IBF, провел две защиты титула с 2010 по 2012 года. По версии BoxRec на 1 августа 2020 года занимает 5 место (9.745 баллов) среди боксеров минимального веса и 625 место среди боксеров вне весовой категории.
