Carrière

Il devient le premier champion du monde poids légers de l'histoire en battant le 29 octobre 1886 Billy Frazier par KO au 21^e round[1]. McAuliffe défend 8 fois son titre avant de le laisser vacant en 1893 et de mettre un terme à sa carrière en étant resté invaincu en 1897.

Distinction

• Jack McAuliffe est membre de l'International Boxing Hall of Fame depuis 1995[2].

Jack McAuliffe (* 24. März 1866 in Cork, Irland; † 5. November 1937 in Forest Hills) war ein US-amerikanischer Boxer irischer Herkunft. Er gehört mit Young Mitchell, Jimmy Barry, Rocky Marciano, László Papp, Terry Marsh, Kim Ji-won, Ricardo López und Sven Ottke zu den Boxern, die offiziell als Profis ungeschlagen blieben.

Jack McAuliffe (March 24, 1866 – November 5, 1937) was an Irish-American boxer who fought mostly out of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Nicknamed "The Napoleon of the Ring," McAuliffe is one of only fifteen world boxing champions to retire without a loss.[1] He was the first boxer to hold the World Lightweight championship from 1886 to 1893. He was the first European boxer to retire as an undefeated World Champion.
