Carrière

Passé professionnel en 2009, il devient champion britannique des poids plumes en 2012 puis champion d'Europe EBU en 2014 et enfin champion du monde IBF de la catégorie le 19 mai 2018 après sa victoire aux points face à Lee Selby[1]. Il conserve son titre également aux points contre Carl Frampton le 22 décembre 2018 et contre Kid Galahad le 15 juin 2019. Le 12 octobre 2019, il bat par arrêt de l'arbitre au 2^e round Sofiane Takoucht et conserve son titre à domicile avant de le laisser vacant le 21 janvier 2021.

Le 13 février suivant, il est arrêté au 9^e round de son combat contre Mauricio Lara. Warrington redevient pourtant champion IBF des poids plumes le 26 mars 2022 en battant par arrêt de l'arbitre au 7^e round Kiko Martínez.

Josh Warrington (born 14 November 1990) is an English professional boxer. He is a two-time world featherweight champion, having held the IBF title since March 2022, and previously between 2018 and 2021. At regional level, he held the British, Commonwealth, European and WBC International featherweight titles between 2013 and 2017.[2] He made history in 2018 with his win over Lee Selby, making him the first male boxer from Leeds to win a major world title. As of October 2021, he is ranked as the world's fourth-best active featherweight by The Ring,[3] fifth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board,[4] and seventh by BoxRec.[5]
