Biographie

Víctor Ugarte fut le meilleur buteur de l'histoire de l'équipe de Bolivie pendant un demi-siècle avant d'être dépassé par Joaquín Botero, inscrivant 16 buts en 45 sélections entre 1947 et 1963[1].

Il mena son pays à remporter son unique trophée international, la Copa América 1963, en marquant un doublé face au Brésil lors du dernier match (5-4)[2]. Un stade à Potosí porte son nom.

Víctor Agustín Ugarte Oviedo (May 5, 1926 – March 20, 1995) was a Bolivian footballer. He scored 16 goals in 45 caps for Bolivia, making him their third all-time top goalscorer behind Joaquín Botero and Marcelo Moreno.[1] His national team career lasted from 1947 to 1963, and he played for the Bolivian team that won the 1963 Copa América, where he scored two goals in Bolivia's final match of the tournament against Brazil.[2]

Víctor Agustín Ugarte Oviedo (Tupiza, 5 de mayo de 1926-Nuestra Señora de La Paz, 20 de marzo de 1995) fue un futbolista boliviano que jugaba como delantero y ha sido reconocido como el «mejor futbolista boliviano de todos los tiempos».[1][2] Ha sido internacional absoluto con la selección de fútbol de Bolivia, de la cual es el tercer máximo goleador histórico y con la cual además participó en la Copa Mundial de Fútbol de 1950, y la Copa América 1963 donde Bolivia se proclamó campeón del torneo por primera vez en su historia.
