Carrière

Yoto Yotov participe aux Jeux olympiques d'été de 1992 à Barcelone où il remporte la médaille d'argent dans la catégorie des moins de 67,5 kg. Lors des Jeux olympiques d'été de 1996 à Atlanta, il remporte la médaille d'argent dans la catégorie des moins de 76 kg[1].

Son palmarès aux Championnats du monde d'haltérophilie comprend trois médailles d'or en 1991, 1993 et 1997 et quatre médailles d'argent en 1989, 1990, 1994 et 1995. Aux Championnats d'Europe d'haltérophilie, il obtient six médailles d'or en 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 et 1997 et une médaille d'argent en 1989.

Yoto Vasilev Yotov (Bulgarian: Йото Василев Йотов, born May 22, 1969) is a Bulgarian–Croatian weightlifter. Yoto Yotov is one of the greatest Bulgarian weightlifters of all time. He is a two-time Olympic silver medalist, three-time world champion, six-time European champion, winner of the 1991 World Cup. Holds a total of 51 medals from the Olympic Games, World and European Championships in total, snatch and clean and jerk - 22 gold, 22 silver and 7 bronze. Because of his long career and many medals, he has been called the Professor. He was elected Athlete of the Year of Bulgaria for 1997. In 2020 he was awarded the highest state honors of Bulgaria in the field of sports - the Wreath of the winner. He began training in 1984. He has competed for the clubs Minor Pernik, Levski and Dobrich. At the 1988 World and European Junior Championships in Athens became second. A year later in Fort Lauderdale, USA, he became the World Junior Champion. Following is a great career for men with three world titles, six European titles and two silver medals from the Olympics, as well as many other medals from major championships. At the end of his career, he competed for Croatia but did not win medals.

Joto Vasilev Jotov (in bulgaro: Йото Василев Йотов?; Pernik, 22 maggio 1969) è un ex sollevatore bulgaro che, per un breve periodo, ha gareggiato anche per la Croazia, campione mondiale ed europeo e due volte vice-campione olimpico, attivo principalmente nelle categorie dei pesi leggeri (fino a 67,5/70 kg.) e dei pesi medi (fino a 76 kg.). È considerato uno dei più grandi sollevatori bulgari di tutti i tempi.
