Carriera
Imparentato con l'ex portiere dei Pittsburgh Penguins e del Bolzano Frank Pietrangelo, dalla stagione 2008-2009 gioca per i St. Louis Blues.
Con la nazionale canadese ha vinto l'oro a Soči 2014 ed alla World Cup of Hockey 2016, ed ha inoltre partecipato ai mondiali 2011, in cui la squadra è stata eliminata ai quarti di finale, ma Pietrangelo è stato eletto miglior difensore del torneo.
A livello di club ha portato i St. Louis Blues, di cui è capitano dal 2016, alla vittoria della Stanley Cup 2019, mettendo a segno il gol decisivo in gara 7.

Alexander Pietrangelo (born January 18, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the St. Louis Blues for parts of twelve seasons, captaining the Blues for his final four seasons with the franchise. Nicknamed "Petro", as a junior, he played with the Niagara IceDogs and Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Pietrangelo captained the Blues to their first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history in 2019, where he tied the league-lead in the playoffs in assists and notably scored the Stanley Cup-clinching goal in Game 7.[fr] Alexander Pietrangelo
