Biografia

Carriera universitaria

Cook iniziò la carriera presso la Walsh Jesuit High School a Cuyahoga Falls in Ohio. Nel 2011, al termine del liceo, era considerato il tredicesimo miglior quarterback a livello liceale secondo il sito Rivals.com.[1] Al college giocò a football con i Michigan State Spartans nella NCAA dal 2011 al 2015. Oakland Raiders

Cook fu scelto nel corso del quarto giro (100º assoluto) del Draft NFL 2016 dagli Oakland Raiders.[2] Iniziò la stagione come terzo quarterback nelle gerarchie della squadra dietro al titolare Derek Carr e alla sua riserva Matt McGloin. Debuttò come professionista nell'ultimo turno della stagione quando sostituì l'infortunato McGloin, che a sua volta era partito come titolare al posto di Carr, nel finale del secondo quarto contro i Denver Broncos. Completò 14 passaggi su 21 tentativi per 150 yard, un touchdown e un intercetto subito nella sconfitta per 24-6.[3] Partì come titolare nella prima gara di playoff in cui i Raiders furono sconfitti per 27-14 dagli Houston Texans, in una gara in cui Cook passò 141 yard, un touchdown per Andre Holmes e subì 3 intercetti.[4]

Connor Cook (born January 29, 1993) is a former American football quarterback. He played college football for the Michigan State Spartans and was their starting quarterback from 2013 to 2015. He holds the record for most career wins at Michigan State. Cook was selected in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. After initially serving as the third-string backup to Derek Carr and Matt McGloin, Cook played in his first NFL game in the Raiders' last regular season game of the 2016 NFL season after Carr and McGloin suffered injuries. Following this, he was named the starter for the Raiders' playoff game against the Houston Texans and became the first quarterback in NFL history to make his first career start in a playoff game.
