Durante la sua carriera professionistica ha disputato 5 stagioni con l'Atlante tra il 1929 e il 1934, vincendo un campionato nella stagione 1930-31.
Nazionale
Con la Nazionale del Messico ha preso parte ai Mondiali del 1930 in Uruguay dove il Messico perde tutte le tre partite contro Francia, Cile e Argentina. Nella sfida contro il Cile Rosas segna un autogol. Contro l'Argentina Rosas diviene il primo calciatore a realizzare un calcio di rigore in un Mondiale. In seguito realizza un'altra rete contro i biancocelesti segnando una doppietta. Con il Messico concluderà la sua esperienza totalizzando 3 presenze e due reti.

Manuel Rosas Sánchez (17 April 1912 in Mexico City – 20 February 1989), nicknamed Chaquetas, was a Mexican footballer who participated in the 1930 FIFA World Cup. He was the first player in the history of FIFA World Cup who scored a goal from the penalty kick spot (against Argentina).[1] With the first goal he scored during the World Cup, he became, at the time, the youngest player to have scored in the FIFA World Cup, a record later broken by Pelé, although Rosas remains second youngest. He was also the first Mexican player to score multiple goals in World Cup play (the first to score more than two goals was Luis Hernandez, 68 years later) and the first player to score an own goal in the history of FIFA World Cup (against Chile).[2][es] Manuel Rosas Sánchez
