Carriera professionistica

Tuten passò la maggior parte della carriera professionistica coi Seattle Seahawks. Nel 1992 calciò 108 punt, il quarto risultato stagionale di tutti i tempi della NFL, guadagnando 4.760 yard a una media di 44,1 yard per punt. Nel 1994, anno in cui fu convocato per il suo primo e unico Pro Bowl, calciò il pallone 91 volte per 3.905 yard a una media di 42,9 yard a punt e segnò una conversione da due punti. Tuten, nell'ultimo anno della carriera, vinse coi St. Louis Rams il Super Bowl XXXIV[1], anche se in quella gara non giocò perché infortunato.

Richard Lamar Tuten (January 5, 1965 – June 13, 2017) was an American football punter in the National Football League who played most of his career with the Seattle Seahawks. He punted the ball 108 times in 1992, tied for fourth-most in a season in NFL history.[1] In 1992, he punted for 4,760 yards with an average of 44.1 yards per punt. In 1994, the year he went to his only Pro Bowl, he punted the ball 91 times for 3,905 yards, an average of 42.9 yards per punt, and also scored a two-point conversion, the only scored points of his career. Tuten also received a ring as a member of the St. Louis Rams' Super Bowl championship team. However, he did not play in the game itself due to injury.
