Deportivo Xinabajul is a Guatemalan professional football club based in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. They compete in the Liga Nacional, the top tier of Guatemalan football.

Founded in 1980, they competed in the Liga Nacional, the top division in the nation,^[when?] and played home matches at the Estadio Los Cuchumatanes.

History

In the of summer 2012, the club was disaffiliated and disbanded after not paying player salaries and going into heavy debt. Bad ownership and mismanagement led to the downfall of the club.[2] A new club from the same city claiming to have no relation to Deportivo Xinabajul, was founded weeks later, they began play in division 3. Ever since then, the team has been playing in the Primera Divisón, the second tier of Guatemalan football.[3]

The club returned to the Liga Nacional in June 2022 after winning their promotional playoff game against Marquense.

El Club Social y Deportivo Xinabajul Huehue es un equipo de fútbol de Guatemala con sede en Huehuetenango. Fue fundado en 1980. El club había intentado varias veces el ascenso a la Liga Nacional sin lograrlo hasta que ganó la final de la Primera División al equipo de Universidad de San Carlos. Su mejor participación en la Liga Mayor fue durante el torneo 2008 en el cual logró llegar hasta semifinales, siendo derrotado por Municipal por marcador de 2-1. En 2012 sufrió severos problemas económicos que lo llevaron a la desaparición, razón por la cual se refundó dos veces; primero bajo el nombre de Club Social y Deportivo Huehueteco y luego como Xinabajul Huehue.
