Reading Abbey was an English association football club based in Reading. The club was founded in 1875 under the name Reading St Lawrence and changed its name in 1880. [1]

The club first entered the FA Cup in 1880-81. In the first round, the club beat the St Alban's club from Forest Gate, and in the second round beat Acton, before losing to Romford in the third.
The club reached the second round the following season, but its defeat to the Hotspur club of Battersea was its last appearance in the competition.
The club's colours were blue and red.[2]
