Notwane were founded in 1965 and played in the first season of the Botswana Premier League. They were relegated from the top flight for the first time in 2015.[2]
The team sued the Botswana Football Association in 1992 after the BFA allowed Township Rollers a place in the premier league.[3][2]
Notwane were promoted again in 2017.[4][5] However, Notwane suffered financial difficulties which led to a financial dispute with coach 'Pio' Paul in 2018.[6]
