He competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics and in the 2004 Summer Olympics. In 2000 he won the bronze medal with the Spanish team. He played all eight matches and scored 31 goals. Four years later he finished seventh with the Spanish handball team in the 2004 Olympic tournament. He played all seven matches and scored 23 goals.

Antonio Carlos Ortega Pérez es un exjugador de balonmano español. Fue 146 veces internacional con la Selección de balonmano de España y uno de los jugadores más relevantes de la historia de la Liga ASOBAL: es el quinto máximo goleador de la competición. Se formó como jugador de balonmano en las categorías inferiores de los Maristas y terminó su carrera deportiva por una lesión que le impidió seguir jugando al balonmano cuando tenía 33 años. Actualmente es el entrenador de la sección de balonmano del FC Barcelona.[1]
