Career

Abbes played the majority of his professional career for local club Saint-Étienne, where he won the 1957 Première division,[4] the first title ever for the club.^{[citation needed]}

He was also part of the France national team squads at the FIFA World Cups of 1954 and 1958, and played four matches at the latter, where France finished in third place.^{[citation needed]}

He died on 11 April 2008.[5]

Claude Abbes (Faugères, 24 de mayo de 1927 - París, 11 de abril de 2008) fue un futbolista francés. Su demarcación era la de portero y en esta posición destacó en la Copa del Mundo de 1958 con la selección de fútbol de Francia. Era conocido también porque jugaba con jersey. Al acabar su carrera como futbolista, siguió vinculado al mundo del fútbol como entrenador.
