Born in Barnsley,[1] Boyes began his career with Manchester City and Sheffield United.[2] He spent time on loan in non-league with Bradford (Park Avenue),[3] and Solihull Moors,[4] where he was in the National League team of the season.[5]
He moved on loan to Forest Green Rovers in June 2022.[6] Boyes spent the early part of the season injured.[7]
