Poštulka was a goalkeeper of the Czechoslovak teams Sparta Prague and Bohemians Prague. As a head coach, he enjoyed his greatest success in Central America (Champion of Central America, Champion of Costa Rica, Guatemala Cup Winner, LG Cup Winner) where he worked in the 1990s with the L.D.Alajuelense. As a coach, he spent some years with Sparta Prague.

Jan Postulka - directór técnico de fútbol Checo que celebró sus más grandes éxitos en América Central durante los años 90´. Entrenador de Liga Deportiva Alajuelense uno de los equipos más conocidos y más exitosos de América Central, donde incluso dejó una marca de 33 juegos sin conocer la derrota en 1992 (récord histórico de la Primera División de Costa Rica).[1]
