He was formerly the head coach of the Indonesia national team.[1] His stay in Indonesia was brief, as he was replaced by Rahmad Darmawan after less than a month and no matches.[2][3]
In April 2020, he was hospitalised after contracting COVID-19[4] and spent five days in a coma.[5] A few weeks later, it was announced that he had recovered.[6]

Luis Manuel Blanco (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 13 de diciembre de 1959) es un exfutbolista y entrenador de fútbol de origen argentino. Llevado de la mano por [Juan Héctor Guidi|“El Nene” Guidi] a las inferiores del Club Atlético Lanús, Luis empieza a dar sus primeros pasos por el fútbol, su gran pasión desde pequeño. Debuta finalmente en primera división contra Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, y luego es vendido al Club Atlético Boca Juniors para fortalecer su carrera como jugador y empezar a transitar por diversos equipos de países como Argentina, Bolivia o Canadá.
