Mert Han Kurt was a youth player of the Belgian club Cercle Brugge, and transferred to the Turkish club Giresunspor on 29 June 2022 as a professional football player.[2] He made his professional debut with a 3–2 Süper Lig loss to Adana Demirspor on 7 August 2022 coming in as a substitute in the 86th minute; he assisted the second goal to Berişbek in the 90+1 minute.[3]
Mert Han Kurt was born and raised in Gent, Belgium. He has Turkish descent.[1]
