Díaz played club football for Rosario Central, where he won a few local titles[1] and a national cup in 1920. He represented Argentina on 9 occasions between 1926 and 1928. He was a member of the Argentine team, which won the 1927 South American Championship[2] and the silver medal in the 1928 Olympic football tournament.[3][4]

Octavio Juan Díaz (Rosario, 7 de octubre de 1900 - Ibidem, 12 de noviembre de 1977) fue un futbolista argentino. Se desempeñaba como arquero y fue uno de los primeros referentes en ese puesto. Desarrolló su carrera principalmente en Rosario Central y también fue integrante de la selección Argentina. Es hijo de Juan Díaz y sobrino de Zenón Díaz.[1]
