Ole Einar Bjørndalen (Drammen, 27 de enero de 1974) es un deportista noruego que compitió en biatlón. Conocido como el «rey del biatlón», es uno de los biatletas más grandes de la historia,[1] por sus 8 títulos de campeón olímpico, 20 medallas de oro en los Mundiales y 94 victorias en la Copa del Mundo.

Participó en seis Juegos Olímpicos de Invierno, entre los años 1994 y 2014, obteniendo en total trece medallas: oro y plata en Nagano 1998, cuatro oros en Salt Lake City 2002, dos platas y un bronce en Turín 2006, oro y plata en Vancouver 2010 y dos oros en Sochi 2014.[2] Ganó 45 medallas en el Campeonato Mundial de Biatlón entre los años 1997 y 2017.[3]

Vive en la aldea de Obertilliach en Austria. Su exesposa es la biatleta italo-belga Nathalie Santer con la que se casó el 27 de mayo de 2006 y se separó en 2012. Su hermano Dag también es biatleta. En 2016 se casó con la biatleta bielorrusa Daria Domracheva.[4]

Ole Einar Bjørndalen (born 27 January 1974) is a retired Norwegian professional biathlete and coach, often referred to by the nickname, the "King of Biathlon". With 13 Winter Olympic Games medals, he is second on the list of multiple medalists behind Marit Bjørgen who has won 15 medals.[3] He is also the most successful biathlete of all time at the Biathlon World Championships, having won 45 medals, more than double that of any other biathlete except Martin Fourcade. With 95[4] World Cup wins, Bjørndalen is ranked first all-time for career victories on the Biathlon World Cup tour, more than twice that of anyone else but Fourcade. He has won the Overall World Cup title six times, in 1997–98, in 2002–03, in 2004–05, in 2005–06, in 2007–08 and in 2008–09.

Con 135 vittorie in prove di Coppa del Mondo è l'uomo più vincente nella massima competizione stagionale degli sport invernali, secondo solamente a Marit Bjørgen (144).
