Bohemians Dublin (irisch An Cumann Peile Bóithéimeach) ist ein irischer Fußballverein aus Dublin. Der 1890 gegründete Verein ist einer der ältesten durchgehend bestehenden Fußballclubs der Republik Irland (neben Athlone Town, UCD Dublin und Shelbourne Dublin); die Fußballmannschaft gehört als einzige der ersten irischen Liga ausschließlich den Mitgliedern des Vereins. Der Verein trägt seine Heimspiele seit 1901 im Dalymount Park aus, dem bis in die 1970er Jahre wichtigsten Stadion der irischen Republik.

Geschichte

Der Verein war von Beginn an sehr erfolgreich; in den ersten 20 Jahren seines Bestehens konnte er sechsmal das Endspiel im FAI Cup erreichen, verlor jedoch bis auf einen Sieg 1908 alle Finalpartien. Nach der Abspaltung des Fußballverbandes der Republik Irland vom Nordirischen 1921 wurden die Bohemians Gründungsmitglied der irischen Liga, in den folgenden 1920/30er Jahre prägten sie den irischen Fußball. Neben fünf Meisterschaften und zwei Pokalsiegen stehen insgesamt vier Vizetitel in beiden Wettbewerben.

Bis 1969, als die ersten beiden Halbprofis zu den Bohs kamen, waren sie eine reine Amateurmannschaft. Später entwickelten sie sich zu einer vollprofessionellen Mannschaft. Sie spielen seitdem regelmäßig um die nationalen Titel mit.

Bohemian Football Club (Irish: an Cumann Peile Bóihéamach), more commonly referred to as Bohemians or Bohs, is a professional football club from Dublin, Ireland. Bohemians compete in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland, and are the oldest League of Ireland club in continuous existence. Bohs are the fourth most successful club in League of Ireland football history, having won the League of Ireland title 11 times, the FAI Cup 7 times, the League of Ireland Shield 6 times and the League of Ireland Cup 3 times. Prior to the establishment of the Football Association of Ireland and League of Ireland, Bohemians competed in the Irish Football League and Irish Cup, which were at the time all-Ireland competitions. During that period they won the Irish Cup once and finished runners up 5 times. They hold the record for Leinster Senior Cup wins with 32 cups claimed.
