BAKES FC was established in 2005 as PSUT-KHEDN by government workers of the Ministry of Home Affairs, initially as a multi-sport association for ministry employees.[1] Their football team entered the 2015 Brunei Muara District League, under its current name.[2]
In 2017, a merger took place between the club and Najip I-Team, with club ownership transferring to BAKES FC committee members while the club's name remained as 'Najip FC'. Although they were briefly allowed to rename to Najip-BAKES FC, the name change was not approved until 2020.[1]
