The team will play in the third-tier division in Malaysian football, the Malaysia M3 League.[2] The club homeground has been the 1,000-seaters, the Hang Tuah Stadium in Melaka City.

Melaka City Football Club is a club founded in January 2020 in Malacca City, Malacca and will participated in the third-tier division in Malaysian football, the 2020 Malaysia M3 League.[3]

Melaka City FC fills the slot left by SAMB FC when the club withdrew from the M3 League this season.[4]
