Career

He played in eleven matches for the Chile national football team from 1942 to 1946.[1] He was also part of Chile's squad for the 1942 South American Championship.[2]

At club level, he began his career in Unión Pueblo Nuevo and the team of Iquique, becoming amateur national champion. Next, he played for Colo-Colo and Green Cross.[3]

He also had a brief career as manager since he coached Coquimbo Unido in 1959.[3][4]

Santiago Segundo Salfate Núñez (Iquique, 12 de enero de 1916 – Santiago, 24 de septiembre de 2010)[2] fue un futbolista chileno que se desempeñaba como zaguero derecho. Fue campeón con Colo-Colo en 1939, 1941 y 1944, y con Green Cross en 1945. Además fue internacional con la selección chilena, y disputó los Campeonatos Sudamericanos de 1942 y 1946.
