Caratteristiche tecniche


Difensore centrale molto fisico, abile nel controllo palla e nell'intercettare i palloni avversari, per le sue caratteristiche è stato paragonato a John Stones.[1][2] Si distingue anche per la sua bravura nei passaggi che gli consente di costruire l'azione dal basso e di effettuare passaggi filtranti.[2]

Club


Cresciuto nel settore giovanile dello Swansea City,[3] dopo avere giocato alcune partite con la formazione under-21 del club,[4] Il 30 gennaio 2018 viene ceduto in prestito fino al termine della stagione al Cheltenham Town.[5] Rientrato allo Swansea, nel frattempo retrocesso in Championship, viene promosso in prima squadra, arrivando anche a giocare come titolare dei cigni,[6] seppur senza essere fisso tra gli 11 iniziali.[7]

Il 16 ottobre 2020 viene acquistato dal Tottenham.[8][9]

Il 1º agosto 2022, dopo avere trovato poco spazio in due anni agli Spurs,[10][11] viene ceduto in prestito ai francesi del Rennes.[12][13]


Nazionale


Ha esordito con la nazionale under-21 gallese il 6 settembre 2016, in occasione della partita pareggiata contro il Lussemburgo, valida per le qualificazioni all'Europeo 2017, giocando da titolare l'intero match.[14]

Nell'ottobre 2018 riceve la sua prima convocazione in nazionale maggiore,[15] ma senza debuttare. L'esordio arriva il 6 settembre 2019, giorno in cui parte titolare nel successo per 2-1 contro l'Azerbaigian.[16] Dopo quella partita si afferma come titolare dei dragoni,[17][18] venendo convocato per Euro 2020.[19]
